Former Coventry City Chairman and leading City MP Geoffrey Robinson has urged SISU to come clean to supporters over their intentions for Coventry City FC.

Speaking to the CT, Mr Robinson, who claims he wrote off £20m off his own money he left the club in 2007, hit back at the way the club was being run and said: "It's astonishing. "I can't really believe it. I'm shocked, saddened and disappointed.

"They have got to come clean and say what their intentions are now. They cannot hide behind Ray Ranson anymore as he is not there.

"I am very saddened because it is completely contrary to what I understood when we transferred the company to them. We understood that they were going to make a real go at getting into the Premiership and invest in the club to get the club up and they have done absolutely nothing.

"The club is worse off now than when they took over. They haven't got a manager, haven't got a chairman and are almost in a relegation position.

"I am very surprised and disappointed in the way the owners have behaved toward the club, very disappointed. It is quite contrary to every expectation we had.

"SISU had a bit of investment to make and a bit of income tax to make up and that but essentially they came in with a very good position to buy into and that's why they bought into.

"But the thing is they haven't invested in the club, they have forked away from it and one wonders if they have financial difficulties of their own.

"SISU have got to decide if they don't want to invest and back the club themselves then they have got to let someone come in that will and make it possible for them to come in because it is a much worse situation now.

"But I am sure there are people out there willing to invest."
