Coventry City manager Chris Coleman will start his search for players next week. The City boss had hoped to strengthening his squad this week but with City still not safe,he has postponed this until next week.

"We had hoped to start moving on a few people this week," said Coleman to the CT.

"We thought we would be safe and we couldn't really get them in before that because some of the players we want need to know whether we are going to be in the Championship. We need five or six players if we are serious.

"We want competition in the squad and players to be cutting each other's throats for places, because that's how you progress. We have got some good players at the minute but we haven't got enough good players in the squad to make a difference.

"We have done everything the right way round by speaking to clubs. One or two clubs are in trouble financially so they may have to do some trading, some players are out of contract and some players already have other clubs in for them. We have thrown our hat in the ring, but we have to wait another week now."
