Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is to decide the fate of his fringe players this week.

With no reserve side this season and any money frm SISU being offset by losses elsewhere, the City boss is keen to trim the squad so that new players can be brought in.

Chris Birchall, the winger who joined City from Port Vale has a year left on his contract but has already been spoken to and told by Coleman that it would be best if he looked for another club.

About Kevin Kyle who was sent off twice last season, incurred the wrath of sections of the City support and was loaned to Wolves,Coleman told the CT: "Kyler has come back from Wolves and has trained very hard and not been a problem. I will be sitting down an talking one to one with him to discuss his future although he is aware that we will be looking to bring in another body or two."

On defender Gary Borrowdale who has another two years left on his contract and had a herna operation in the summer, Coleman said: "I have pulled Gary and for me he needs to be fitter. "He is just coming back from injury but he is working hard and has a lot to offer because he has a good left foot. "We'll see how he is when he gets back because obviously if he were to eave then no-one is going to sign an injured player.

Coleman will continue to monitor the form of David McNamee and will take a look at Portuguese trialist Manuel Curto tomorrow in a private practice game against Solihull Borough.
