Coleman Praises City Support

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman was full of praise for every City supporter who made to The Valley last night to cheer on the Sky Blues.

A couple of hundred travelled from Coventry & Warwickshire and were joined by around four hundred southern based supporters as well as supporters from Norway, Denmark and Northern Ireland.

Our fans were fantastic, from the first minute to the last and a big thank you to them," Coleman told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire after the 2-1 victory.

Speaking to the club website, Coleman also said: "We came off the pitch here seven or eight months ago with a fantastic travelling support and achieved the goal of staying in the Championship but doing it in the worst fashion.

"But we have come away with three points this time round is sweet and it helps us move up a few places so it's fantastic.

"I thought Danny Fox's free kick was superb and bear in mind he'd just given away a penalty so he showed great character to come back and stick in a free kick at the other end.

"His all round game is fantastic and it was a great way to win the game. And effectively we had four strikers on the pitch with Robbie Simpson and Michael Mifsud playing wide and you also have lads like Marcus Hall playing out of position so their discipline to stick to the task at hand was really pleasing to see."
