Coventry City manager Chris Coleman was pleased with new signing Martin Cranie.

Speaking to the CT about Cranie who played at centre half for 68 minutes before being forced off with cramp, the City boss said: "It was the first time he's been in the dressing room with the other players so I wasn't sure whether to start him or not, but I decided to go with him and we have seen glimpses of his class.

"I've seen him play at centre back, right back and left back with equal effect and he's got a good footballer's brain - he reads situations so well.

"We've been chasing him for some time and when he is fully fit we are going to have a very good player on our hands."
