Coventry City manager Chris Coleman was pleased with City's 2-1 Jackson Grundy Cup win at Northampton Town last night.

"It was another tough test for us but we are getting fitter all the time," said Coleman to the CT.

"Northampton played well in the first half for the first 20 minutes and then we came into it for 20 minutes and should have scored, and the first 20 minutes of the second half I thought we were excellent. We played some great football, our shape was better, there was good movement.

"We got a bit tired in the last 15 minutes but that's expected and we have still got another three pre-season friendlies before the big kick off against Ipswich. But, overall, I was pleased."

Coventry City travel to Huddersfield Town on Saturday in their next friendly.
