Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that he is not ready to become the next manager of Wales.

The City boss had rumoured to be in the running if John Toshack was to lose his job after Wales were beaten 1-0 in Germany last night.

Speaking to the CT, Coleman said: "I love my country and one day I would be honoured to manage Wales. But that would be years down the line.

"I'm 38 and I love it where I am. I have signed a three-and-a-half year contract and I won't break that to leave for Wales or any other job.

"I have given my word to the chairman that I am here for the long haul because I want to be part of his plans to build this club for the future.

"I'm not interested in managing any other club or my country although I'd love to do it one day. I like the day-to-day stuff and I'm not ready for that yet. It's flattering, but I need more experience."
