Coleman Not As Hopeful About Bringing In New Players

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is not as hopeful of signing anyone before next week's transfer dead-line as he was.

Many City supporters are hoping for a striker to add some punch to the Sky Blues attack which has been lightweight during the games at Doncaster and at home to Swansea, but this looks more and more unlikely.

"I was hopeful at the weekend but not so much today," said Chris Coleman to the CT.

"We had talks with the other club invovled and the player's agent but I am not as confident as I was that it will go through.

"We've got one or two other irons in the fire and there is still a bit of time, so who knows - but we won't be rushing into anything.

"At the moment the squad's ok - we still need to improve it but won't panic buying or fixing up a rush job on a loan player.

"Whoever, we bring in, we'll have done our homework on him because that is the way we work."
