Coleman Looking For New Year Cash

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has identified targets that could from cash proposed if the Sky Blues are in the top half of the table at Christmas.

"We have got to, by hook or by crook, stay in the top half of the league until Christmas because the longer we stay in that top half it keeps you in touch with the boys in the top six," said Coleman to the CT.

"It keeps a bit of excitement as well so the longer we do that the better it is for us.

"I think we would be wise to invest in the squad if we are in that top 10 come Christmas when that January window comes round.

"We would be wise to do that. I think that is rewarding the players we have got by bringing in new players to keep pushing them and thicken the squad and hopefully ensuring that we are more successful.

"If the club gave us £5 million tomorrow we have identified the players to go and spend that £5 million, I promise you that.

"Equally, if they give us £2 million we'd have different players to fit into that budget.

"We have left no stone unturned and Andy Thorn and his scouts have worked incredibly hard, not just for that one player because as we know the budget has changed, so we have to look at a number of players so that no matter what the amount of money we get in January, I promise you we will spend it."
