Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is keen on signing Leon Barnett from West Brom.
The centre half has impressed the City manager whilst on loan and Chris Coleman told the CT: "We are trying to get Leon.
"We have still got Ben Turner to come back from injury, James McPake has come and done absolutely fantastic and we have signed Richard Wood for obvious reasons.
"Leon is a no brainer - a good centre-back and we would love to do something permanent if we can.
"We would like to do something. We have had some conversations with West Brom and I have spoken to Leon as well, and if we can reach an agreement it will be a real good signing for us.
"I think he's keen to come. He wants to play football and he's enjoyed his time here. "But if there is a club bigger than us they might come in and nick him."
