Coventry City manager Chris Coleman said he was happy with the squad's fitness after the two games in Switzerland.

The City boss, who flew back to England from Geneva with Steve Kean and twenty of his twenty three man squad straight after the 1-0 defeat by Stade Nyonnais, told the club website: "Nyonnais provided us with the sternest test we've had all season but I knew they would because they are a good side and we chose to play them because of that. But it was never a case of about who won or lost.

"Clinton Morrison had not played since the end of last season and neither had Freddy Eastwood and the most important thing for them and all of the lads was that they all got some time under their belts. I told them to go out and treat the Nyonnais game as a training session and they did that.

"It's been a tough week for them but that was always the aim because this trip was meant to concentrate on the physical side of things. We wanted to get the lads as fit as possible before we came home and I think we've done that.

"We are going to start looking at things a bit more tactically now and concentrate more on the football because now is the time that we start to sharpen up our actual play. We have the trip to Cambridge and then two friendlies in Scotland so we will now start to look at things from a more tactical angle.

"But I'm pleased with the way the last few days have played out and we are flying home with no injuries so as a manager you have to be pleased about that."
