Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that the Sky Blues squad which was offically named today is still too big.

Speaking to the CT, the City boss said: "The squad is still too big for me and we have got players who are not going to play for me and I have had that conversation with the players and it is best that they move on for their own careers.

"There is nothing worse than training Monday to Friday and not playing Saturday because, for me, that's the worse thing that can happen.

"Unfortunately, not all players think like that these days and too many are happy to do that and have the weekend off and I have never been able to understand that.

"Yes, we have got one or two that we need to move on and even if we get Clinton Morrison, the rebuilding of the squad is far from finished."

The Sky Blues boss added: "We have had interest in one or two players but interest is interest and we need a bid.

"We have one or two here that might not want to be part of it and they will need to hand in a transfer request and if the bid is right and all parties are happy then that's what will happen because we only want players here who want to be with us, and if someone doesn't want to be with us that's up to them.

"There is no animosity if they see their careers being elsewhere. It's then a case of so be it and we move on.

"It is important that we get a settled squad and a smaller squad than we have had, with more quality and players who want to be here, because that's when you see better results."
