Joe Cole has said that he would love to play for Coventry City in the FA Cup against crisis club Northampton Town on Saturday, but he has to be sensible.
Cole told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “I’m 34 on Sunday and the way I play, certainly at the moment, I can’t play two games in the space of three or four days.
“I don’t know what the situation is contractually with the cup at the weekend so we’ll look at that. But there’s still a few more games and I am more than happy to stay.
“It’s out of my hands and we’ll speak to people in two or three weeks when the loan is up.”
“I’d love to play on Saturday, love to play every minute of every game but I have to be sensible.
"There are 31 league games to go and that’s the bread and butter, so we’ll see how the body feels in a couple of days and go from there.”
