Club Knew Ricoh Rent Was Too High

Coventry City board members knew the rent to use the Ricoh Arena was too high just a month after signing the deal, the High Court in Birmingham heard today.

In the Judicial Review between Coventry City's owners SISU and Coventry City Council, Mr Justice Hickinbottom, according to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, heard a meeting between the club and Coventry City Council about the Ricoh Arena rent was held in July 2006 and that Coventry City Football Club board members at the time, discussed the rent being too high just one month after signing the deal.

The Judge, according to the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert, was heard the SISU QC read from a Price, Waterhouse, Cooper valuation report of 2007 which claimed that ACL's income streams could be affected by City's performances on the pitch.
