Coventry City have issued the following statement:

"The Coventry City Board met this morning to discuss the vacant Manager’s position at the Club.

The Club has received 30 applications for the position of Manager and expects more in the next few days. "The Board wishes to reassure the fans, whose support is vital to the success of the Club and the Manager, that it is listening hard to their views on who the next appointment should be.
Further to this, the Club is considering ways in which the fans and the Sky Blues Supporters’ Trust can be directly involved in the selection process. Details of the arrangements for this involvement will be announced when the shortlist of candidates has been finalised.

"The Board wishes in these difficult circumstances to re-affirm its confidence in and support for the Chairman, Mike McGinnity. He has worked ceaselessly for the good of the Club and has done so out of his own full commitment to Coventry City Football Club from whom he receives no renumeration for the service he gives to us all."
