Coventry City new signing Sammy Clingan has said that he is happy to have signed for Coventry City.

The midfielder joined the Sky Blues from Norwich for a fee which could rise to £1m depending on appearances on Friday and now all the paperwork has gone through, meaning that he can start his Sky Blue career.

"I was really pleased when the transfer was done because I know the manager did his homework on me and I already know that he is a great young manager who is good to work with," Clingan said to the club website.

"I know David Bell from our time together at Norwich and I was speaking to Belly about the club and he said it was a good club and the manager was great to work with but in all honesty no-one really had to sell the move to me. I was excited about the prospect of coming here.

"I played at the Ricoh Arena against Coventry for Norwich City last season so I already know it's a fantastic stadium. The only thing that spoilt it for me was having a penalty being given against me which I never thought was a penalty but I'm sure the manager will disagree.

"But I've just completed my first day of training today and the whole team seem like a great bunch of lads and they've all made me feel really welcome.

"I've spent the last few weeks training with the Norwich youth team and I'd not taken part in any pre-season games so obviously I'm just looking forward to Wednesday and I just hope I can get some minutes in my legs as quickly as possible."
