Midfielder Sammy Clingan has said that he is delighted to be back in the City team but said that team's bad run of results without him in the side was just co-incidence.

Speaking to the CT, the Ulsterman who was an 88th minute subsitute against Peterborough United on Saturday said: "I am delighted to be back because it has been a frustrating time for me.

"It was ten weeks on Saturday that I have been out since the injury. "It has been hard work along the way but I am back now and it is good that the team are back to winning ways.

"It is just coincidence that the bad run has happened while I have been injured but we got a victory from a team who are in and around us, so it was a six-pointer, and hopefully we can take a lot of confidence from the game and take it on to the next match against Plymouth, who are down near the bottom as well.

"My foot is all good now but I just have a little niggle on my Achilles tendon which happened during the week and at one point I thought it was going to be something major, but thankfully it has gone down now and I am just glad to be back on the pitch," he said.

"My fitness will come with the more minutes I get on the pitch. "I have been working hard with the fitness coach and I will just see what happens.

"If the manager wants to get me a reserve game I'll be up for that because I want to get as many minutes as I can."
