Claus Jorgensen The Match Day Guest

Last updated : 10 November 2016 By CCFPA

The Coventry City Former Players Association is pleased to announce that our  ‘special guest’ for the Sky Blues’ next home game this Saturday (12th November 2016) against League One table-toppers Scunthorpe United at the Ricoh tomorrow  will be Sky Blue favourite Claus Bech Jorgensen.

A former CCFPA committee member and regular visitor to Sky Blues home games he will be hoping to see the Sky Blues continue their recent improvement in form and results at the expense of Scunthorpe and continue their unbeaten home league record at the Ricoh this season. If the Sky Blues do manage to beat Scunny and get their fifth successive home win that will be an impressive achievement since the Iron have won five out of their eight away league fixtures so far this year.

Claus will always be part of CCFC history having scored their first ever Ricoh goal after 10 minutes when the Sky Blues defeated QPR at its then new ground in August 2005. The other scorer (Dele Adebola) and the Sky Blues gaffer Micky Adams at the time are now fellow CCFPA members.

A Faroe Islands international, Claus was a combative forward who came from Bradford City in August 2003 and clocked up over 60 appearances for the Sky Blues scoring six times, moving to Blackpool in 2006 and thence to Port Vale. Since hanging up his boots in 2009 Claus has been developing his media and business careers and is proprietor of a local company Unique Floorcare Ltd (one of CCFPA’s Corporate members). Until last August CBJ had a coaching role with the Sky Blues Academy coaching the Under 9 and 14 age-groups at the CCFC Player Development Centre. Since then he has taken up a coaching role with National League North oufit Tamworth FC. The Lambs are managed by another former Sky Blue (and CCFPA member) Andy Morrell! Both men have been known to turn out for our Sky Blues Legends XI in charity games.

He will also be doing matchday analysis during the game for BBC CWR as well touring the corporate areas at the Arena before and after the game (and hopefully will also fit in a visit to the Family Zone to meet Junior Sky Blues). We also expect he will be able to meet our fans in the G-Casino from the stage of Lady Gs  after the game.  Come and meet him and enjoy the game!
