Jordan Clarke looks set to be getting a new contract.

The Coventry born defender expected to be starting the season as City U18's captain but had featured in every City pre-season game so far and is set to be offered a professional contract.

"I have called Jordan in because I have seen a remarkable improvement from him.

"He has always had good ability but he has grown up. It is amazing when you go away for six weeks and they come back and sometimes you see they have changed and he had certainly done that.

"I think he has done tremendously well in the games and training and his demeanour is a lot of different to last year. He has come out of himself. His ability has always been there but now he has matured and plays with maturity for such a young boy and I am absolutely delighted with him, so he is going to be rewarded.

"We are going to sign him on a pro contract, hopefully within the next 48 hours. It is all ready to go and just a question of pulling Jordan in with his parents and getting him to sign on the bottom line."
