Bristol Rovers coach Darryl Clarke felt that the faith his supporters showed in their team's players played a part in the Boxing Day 4-1 victory over Coventry City.

Speaking about the win which included a Billy Bodin second half hat-trick, Clarke told the Press Association: "It was all about how we reacted to last week's poor performance "We let down the fans who travelled to Shrewsbury, but they and the players have responded so positively.

"It was a fantastic attendance and the supporters' faith in the players has been rewarded.

"Billy Bodin was excellent. We all know what he is capable of when on top of his game and that will do his confidence so much good.

"His fitness levels have increased over recent weeks and he has been looking very sharp in training

"Matt Taylor is a very unselfish player and it was all about team spirit when he let Billy take the penalty to complete his hat-trick."
