Leon Clarke's fifty six second goal against Gillingham in a 2-1 victory on Sunday was the fastest goal scored by a Coventry City player since December 2008.

That game on December 20th 2008, saw Clinton Morrison score against Ipswich Town after only thirty seven seconds in a 2-2 draw at the Ricoh Arena.

The fastest ever City goal is twelve seconds scored by Eddie Brown against Reading in 1954 and Gary McSheffrey in a 3-0 League Cup win over Colchester United in 2002.

Other fast goals include Youseff Chippo scoring after 13 seconds against Barnsley in 2001/2002 and Mark Hateley scoring for City at Southampton after 14 seconds in January 1983.
