City's Poppy Shirts Go On Auction

On Monday, Coventry City FC marked Remembrance Sunday in a very special way as all of the team stepped out wearing a unique shirt in the West Brom game.

To pay homage to those who have served their country, past and present, and to highlight the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal, the Sky Blues wore shirts with poppies specially embroidered on the fronts. Following the match the shirts were all laundered and are currently at the training ground waiting to be signed by the players who wore them.

The shirts are now available to the highest bidders in an online auction being hosted by the Football League Official Auction Partner, SpecialistAuctions.com, with all proceeds going directly to The Poppy Appeal.

Mark Davies of CCFC said: "It is a fitting way for the club to honour those who have given so much for us all." He continued, "Remembrance Sunday is always a poignant day and it is a good way for Coventry City Football Club to pay tribute to our nation's hero's, and particularly the people of Coventry who have served, and continue to serve their country"

The auction will run until 28th November and can be accessed either through the official Coventry City auction website, SkyBluesAuctions.com or via the auction site itself, SpecialistAuctions.com. Once signed, the shirts will be available to the successful bidders from the club offices or can be mailed out to the winners of these unique items.
