City's Fan Liaison Department Not Awarded

The Aspire Group, who provide the Fan Liaison department, at Coventry City FC, failed to win an award at the 2012 Football Business Awards.

The Aspire Group have been involved with Coventry City since 2010 with Mike Meitin, who is the Managing Director of the Aspire Group’s UK and European division, in charge of City's Fan Relationship Management Centre and are the people responsible for sending out the emails from the club to City supporters, advertising everything from corporate hospitality to match ticket information.

The Aspire Group were one of 67 finalists at the £225+vat a head awards ceremony held at Chelsea FC last night. 

The winners are as follows:

West Ham United's Karren Brady was named CEO Of The Year,

Aston Villa won the Best Retail / Merchandise Initiative, 

Club sponsorship / partnership of the year  winner was Manchester City / EA Sports (Circle Agency),

Liverpool FC sponsors Standard Charter won the best corporate responsibility scheme, 

Best Club Marketing Campaign Overseas winner was Coritiba FC, 

Best Club community scheme was Everton In The Community.

Best / most innovative use of technology by clubs was Manchester City.

Best Match Day Catering winners were Azure (part of Elior UK)

Best Use of Social Media in Football was The Football Association.

The winner of the Best Club Marketing Campaign in the UK was Wolverhampton Wanderers.
