McKenzie is now out of contract and has been attending a London clinic in order to get himself back to playing next season.
"Leon's rehab is going very well," said Coleman to the CT. "It's a bad injury but if anybody can come back from it, Leon can and we hope to see him in pre-season.
"Once we know he is 100 per cent fit, we can sit down with him because we want him to stay."
