Coventry City are today waiting on clearance for defender Guido Lanzaat.

City boss Chris Coleman wants to field the former CSKA Sofia man against Torquay United on Saturday but is still waiting for international clearance to come through and it many not now be until the Cardiff game on Wednesday that Lanzaat is available for selection.

"We can't get international clearance until he has a contact," said Coleman to the CT. "It's a bit tricky but we are close to agreeing a four month contract to take him to the end of the season, during which time we can take a proper look at him and he can improve his fitness and get a look at us.

"We hope to get that done today and then we can apply for international clearance but that can take a bit of time depending on the circumstances.

"He has been messed about by his former club Sofia, so that has not helped but the fact that he has not played for some time we are hoping will go in our favour. But even if we get everything processed, we don't think we will have him for the weekend."
