Coventry City are waiting for Hibernian to firm up their bid for James McPake.

City's Development Officer Steve Waggott has described the talks for the defender who captained Hibs to retaining their SPL place and scored in the Scottish Cup Final defeat against their cross town rivals, as 'up in the air'.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Mr Waggott said:  “We have had a discussion with Hibs about the next steps for James but that’s very much up in the air at the moment and to all intents and purposes he’s still a Coventry player and will be returning for pre-season on July 1.

“No doubt there will be more discussions with Hibs and with the international call-up I am sure there will be interest from other clubs. But I have also got to factor in how Andy Thorn views James coming back to the club.”
