A Coventry Veterans side of four Veterans players, a Derby Vet and a young City fan narrowly failed to make the semi-finals of a charity tournament in Nottingham.

After two hours of five a side football and playing constantly with no break, City failed to make the semi-finals but only lost 1-0 to the eventual winners.

Player-Manager Paul McKay said: "I'm proud of all the lads. We played some good football and in the end tired legs got the better of us.

"We were the oldest team in the tournament but did not let ourselves down."
