City Up To 14th

Coventry City moved back up to 14th place in the Championship draw with a 0-0 draw against Charlton Athletic.

Charlton now need snookers to avoid relegation and must win all their remaining four matches and hope that either Nottingham Forest who drew 0-0 at Sheffield United and whom face City on Saturday lose all their matches and by a worst than six goal difference.

Barnsley are above Forest on goal difference after losing 3-1 at home to Swansea City. Southampton also look down but beat Crystal Palace at St Marys 1-0.

At the other end of the table, a 3-2 win for Wolves at Derby edged them closer to the Championship title after Birmingham were held 1-1 at home by Plymouth.

A goal from former Sky Blue Jay Bothroyd helped Cardiff into fourth place with a 3-1 win over sixth placed Burnley. Reading, who played Jay Tabb drew 2-2 at Blackpool, are fifth.

Other scores saw Bristol City draw 1-1 with Ipswich, Preston win 2-0 at Doncaster Rovers,QPR beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2.

Leicester City need two points to become League One champions after they won 1-0 at home to Leeds and second placed Peterborough lost 2-0 at Millwall who are third.

Bas Savage scored for Tranmere in a 2-1 win over Hereford.

Mick Harford's Luton Town have lost their Football League status. After being docked thirty points for 54 misdemeanours that a previous board were charged with, Luton battled all season but a 0-0 draw at home to Chesterfield today confirmed they will spend next season in the Conference.

Craig Reid scored for Newport County in a 4-2 win over Team Bath.
