City To Vote On Home Grown Rule

Coventry City are to vote at a Football League Extra-ordinary meeting about a proposal to implement a rule regarding 'home grown players'.

The proposal, which would become a rule in 2009 if an overall majority of Football League clubs plus a majority of Championship clubs were to agree, would see the need for four players in a sixteen player match day squad to have been registered in English football for at least three years before their 21st Birthday.

City's current squad should have no problems in meeting that quota with only Aron Gunnarsson and Guilluame Belzelin in the sixteen against Swansea last night, who would not qualify.
