Coventry City are to make a deadline day bid for Norwich City striker Cody McDonald.

The 25 year old striker has attracted interest from numerous clubs and Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has been a long time admirer of McDonald.

Coventry lost out on signing Adam Le Fondre last week, but McDonald is seen as a similar type of player and while on loan at Gillingham last season he scored 25 goals in his 41 games.

However Coventry face stiff competition for McDonald's signature with Peterborough and MK Dons also keen on the striker.

All deals have to be completed by 11:00 pm tonight when the summer transfer window closes.
