With the intital allocation of 39,411 close to selling out, Coventry City are to get more tickets for the EFL Trophy FInal against Oxford United on Sunday April 2nd at Wembley Stadium.

There were long queues this morning as tickets went on general sale with plenty who are not either on-line or have access to debit or credit cards, joining the queues along with disabled supporters.

City have asked for 6,300 more tickets to take their full allocation up to 45,741 tickets, still well short of the 58,000 tickets City sold for the Charity Shield in 1987 but more than half the capacity of Wembley Stadium, which has a capacity of 12,000 less after being modernised.

Otium Director Mark Venus told the Coventry Observer: “Ticket sales have been really strong today.

“There is a feeling that we will get through our allocation.

“That’s why these extra tickets have been released for sale.”
