Coventry City are to ask Derby County if loanee Luke Thomas can play in the Sky Blues' FA Cup First Round tie at Walsall on Saturday.
The midfielder is on a long term contract with the Rams and on loan with the Sky Blues until January, although City have already said that they would like him for the rest of the season if possible.
Thomas has told the media about Saturday's game: “I think Coventry are going to ask Derby for permission to play me but I’d certainly like to play.
“I wouldn’t want to miss out on an FA Cup run, especially if I am allowed to stay for the rest of the season.”
