Coventry City manager Chris Coleman was singing the praise of the City support who travelled to St Andrews last night.

Around 1,000 City supporters, including supporters from as far away as Northern Ireland,South Wales, Cambridgeshire,Sheffield and Kent, ignored the trappings of Sky TV or a night down the pub to get to St Andrews for an evening kick off.

"Our fans were fantastic. Abolutely brilliant," Coleman said to the club website.

"It was definitely the best I've seen them in my time at the club and the noise they created definitely gave us a real lift. The vocal suport they gave the boys was incredible and it really spurred them on.

"We've not been filling the Ricoh Arena recently though and what we need to do is make sure we get another win at the weekend to keep the momentum going.

"We are not going to get carried away whether we are winning or losing because there is a long way to go but we will keep chipping away at the points and aim to be in the top half by Christmas and a win against Crystal Palace on Saturday will make this one at St Andrews look much, much better."
