City Striking The Right Note

Coventry City appear to have struck the right note by reducing admission prices to the price of one note.

OK, some of the football on offer in matches at the Ricoh Arena last season was not worth paying a fiver to get in, but at least by reducing admission prices to £20 for adults, £15 concessions and £7 for juniors, the club at least are trying to make watching Coventry City more affordable.

Handing over one note without the need to fiddle around finding the extra couple of quid is a good thing and as we know with products that only cost one note, they are something more people are likely to buy.

What is interesting to note is that club are seemingly trying to force supporters to buy tickets on-line rather than visit the ticket office or pay on the day by offering £2 off the admission price.

Whilst, any further price reduction is a good thing, we are highly concerned that that the almost insistence of getting tickets on line may lead to job losses in the ticket office and we feel that any loss of staff in this department is unacceptable.

Many supporters will only be served by the likes of Lynn or Shelagh as they trust them to deal with their purchases in a friendly and informed way and to possibly make redundant highly valuable to the club, members of the ticket office staff, if on-line ticketing becomes more used, is not the way forward for Coventry City FC and its supporters.
