City Still Fourteenth

Coventry City remain fourteenth in the Championship after this afternoon's fixtures.

Wolves pushed further ahead after a 2-0 win at home to one of Mick McCarthy's former sides Barnsley whilst Birmingham lost 1-0 at Preston who have moved in sixth place in the table.

The other sides in the top six - Reading, Burnley and Cardiff for whom Jay Bothroyd netted, all won. Cardiff beat Ipswich who travel to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

Charlton, who play on Monday night are still bottom, a point less than Doncaster and Nottingham Forest.

Former Sky Blues Craig Reid hit his eighth goal in fourteen matches in Newport County's 1-1 FA Trophy game at Rushden & Diamonds.

Lee Fowler scored for Forest Green in a 5-1 win at home to Hemel Hempstead.

City's 1987 FA Youth Cup Final Keeper Paul Bastock was in goal for St Albans. He let four goals in against Stevenage. Patrick Suffo player for Wrexham in the Trophy but did not find the net in a 2-1 win over Mansfield Town. 

Locally, all the games were off. Leamington,Atherstone, Nuneaton,Sphinx, RC Warwick,Stratford, Coventry Copsewood, Southam, Nuneaton Griff, Coventry Sphinx Reserves and Coventry Amatuers all will have to re-arrange their match which should have been played today.
