Coventry City remain 14th in the Championship table after their 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers.

On a day where the weather saw a number of matches postponed, Championship leaders Wolves were beaten 3-1 at Molineux by Preston North End. Former Wolves player Stephen Elliott scored twice.

Wolves have a four point lead from Reading who beat Watford 4-0 last night. Preston moved into the top six with that win and the only other top six side to play - Sheffield United beat Norwich City 1-0.

At the bottom, Charlton remain in deep trouble after being beaten 2-0 by Nottingham Forest at The Valley. They are five points behind Doncaster whose game with Bristol City was called off and seven behind Southampton who won 1-0 at Barnsley.

In the other games, Ipswich drew 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea won 2-0 at Burnley.

Leicester are five points clear at the top of League One after a 3-0 win against Leyton Orient.

Gavin Strachan hit the winner for Notts County against Exeter whilst in the Premier League, Craig Bellamy scored for West Ham in a 2-2 draw at Newcastle United.
