John Fleck's penalty for Coventry City at Shrewsbury Town in the 4-1 defeat means that the Sky Blues avoided going bottom of the League One table tonight.

Bury are bottom after a 3-0 defeat at leaders Tranmere whilst Colchester United went off the bottom with a 1-1 home draw against Crawley Town.

Fourth from bottom Scunthorpe moved two points clear of City after a 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic.

At the other end of the table, Stevenage went second with a 3-1 home win over Walsall. They are a point ahead of Notts County who drew 1-1 at MK Dons and two points ahead of Crawley.

Preston North End moved up to fifth with a 5-0 win over Hartlepool and sixth placed Sheffield United drew 0-0 with Doncaster Rovers.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth drew 2-2 with Brentford, Leyton Orient beat Yeovil 4-1 and Swindon won 2-1 at Portsmouth.
