City Seeded For League Cup Draw

Coventry City's good run towards the end of last season has seen them given a seeding in the first round of the Carling Cup. The Sky Blues are drawn number four in the southern section of the draw which takes place tomorrow at Noon bst.

Last season,City were drawn away to Rushden & Diamonds who were relegated out of the Football League in May and won 3-0 with goals from Gary McSheffrey,Matt Heath and Andy Morrell.

City were knocked out of the Cup by Crystal Palace and a home draw would be the first ever League Cup tie at the Ricoh Arena.

Possible opponents are: Gillingham,Yeovil,Bournemouth,Northampton,Leyton Orient, Cheltenham,MK Dons,Swindon,Walsall,Wycombe, Peterborough, Shrewsbury,Boston, Bristol Rovers,Barnet,Torquay,Notts County and Hereford.

Coming in at Round 2 are Round Two are: Aston Villa, Bolton, Charlton,Everton, Fulham, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield United, Watford and Wigan Athletic.

The clubs involved in European competition enter in the third round and are Arsenal, Blackburn, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United,Tottenham, and West Ham.
