City Response To Bringing In Flags And Banners

Last updated : 09 December 2015 By CNS Staff

Coventry City, along with every other Football League and Premier League club were asked by the Football Supporters Federation, four questions relating to their rules on bringing banners into stadiums.

Do you allow banners in the home & away ends?

  1. At what size banner do you insist on a fire safety certificate? Are banners on poles allowed?
  2. If a fan plans to bring a banner into your ground what protocol should they follow?
  3. Does your club ban certain banners/messages? If so please clarify what falls into that category.
  4. Anything else you’d like to add?

Coventry City Replied:

1. Yes. We do not stipulate a size would make the call when in discussions with the fan requesting.

2. Always ask permission from the club’s safety officer (chris.o'neill@ccfc.co.uk) and fans will also be asked to provide the fire safety certificate.

3. Banners will be banned if they have any foul abusive language and or messages of protest against their owners.

4. We will always try to accommodate to make their matchday experience better but under the club rules.
