City Release Statement Over BPA Rumours

Last updated : 12 November 2015 By CNS Staff

Coventry City have issued the following statement following rumours of the club being interested in transforming the Butts Park Arena into a stadium fit for the Sky Blues and Coventry Rugby Club, a move that would satisfy many of the club's supporters who would have difficulty in travelling to an out of Coventry venue on existing public transport and those who feel that the only place for Coventry City FC is in the city of Coventry.

The club have issued the following statement:

"Coventry City Football Club are aware of recent media reports linking the club to a move to Butts Park Arena.

Any reports linking the club to any long-term deal with the Rugby Club is only speculation and we're currently exploring all options in regards to a new stadium to secure the club's long-term stability.

We will not be making any further comment at this time.
