City Put Dunn On Standby

Coventry City have put keeper Chris Dunn on standby due to an injury to number one keeper Joe Murphy.

Ever present Murphy has a shoulder problem and this could rule him out of both Saturday's FA Cup home tie against Morecambe and the JPT Area Quarter-Final against Sheffield United on Tuesday, so Dunn who has been in good form for the U21's of late might get his chance.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, City boss Mark Robins said: “Joe has got a problem with his shoulder so I may be forced to do something this weekend.

“He aggravated it against Portsmouth and it may calm down as quickly as it has come, but I’ll be guided by what happens over the next 24 hours.

“I will give him as long as possible and we’re taking advice from the physio. I’ll also be speaking to Joe because he knows his own body and I’ll make a decision.

“But if I need to I have no qualms about sticking Dunny in. He played against a Shanghai XI this week and has been playing well in Under-21 games rather than going out on loan.

“There may be a few potentially missing on Saturday so it gives an opportunity to other people and if Joe is struggling and we’d be better served giving him a breather then I will put Chris in because he’s worked hard and deserves an opportunity to have a go.”
