City Paid £147,325 In Agents Fees

Coventry City spent £147,325 on agents fees from July 2009-June 2010, according to figures announced by the Football League this morning.

Out of 2,392 player transactions in the Football League, agents were used in 396 deals with Championship clubs spending a combined £10,131,314 on payments to agents.

Coventry City had 37 transactions, 18 new registrations/ transfers, 2 Updated contracts, 3 Cancelled contracts and 14 loans.

Speaking about the figures, Football League Chairman Greg Clarke told the Football League website: "Given the current economic climate, it is worrying to see such a significant amount leaking from the game."This year's figures demonstrate a considerable increase on those of last season and it is essential that clubs work to reduce this liability over the coming campaign."
