City Old Boys Play For England

Two former Sky Blues started for England tonight in their final game before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Former Coventry City loanee Jordan Henderson and former City youngster Danny Sturridge both started for Roy Hodgson's side in a match against Honduras, attended by a number of Coventry City supporters in Miami.

The game had been in progress for twenty two minutes when the American referee took the teams off due to an electrical storm.

When play restarted after a forty miinute delay, England had the better of the few chances against a Honduran side which was down to ten men when Brayan Beckeles was shown a second yellow card in the 65th minute.

Henderson played for 84 minutes before being replaced by Frank Lampard, whilst Sturridge had a number of chances throughout a game which petered out into a 0-0 draw.
