There were four former Coventry City players who scored today and their goals came in two matches.

Former City midfielder Kevin Thornton scored for Wrexham in a 5-0 FA Trophy victory at Sutton United. Former City youngster Robert Ogleby scored the first goal in the 33rd minute with a deflected shot and in the second minute of stoppage time after he had hit a post, Thornton scored the fifth for Andy Morrell's side.

In the St Albans City versus Bedworth United game. Former City youngster David Blenkinsopp fired The Greenbacks ahead before one time City's youngest ever player Ben Mackey equalised in a game which St Albans won 3-2.

Also on the scoresheet were Jonnie Jackson who scored for Charlton in 2-1 win over Blackpool, Elliott Ward who scored for Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 win over Peterborough, Freddy Sears who scored for Colchester in a home defeat to Scunthorpe and Lee Hughes who scored on his debut for Port Vale.
