Former Coventry City midfielder Michael O'Neill is set to become the next manager of Northern Ireland.

O'Neill is now free to take over the role after he left Shamrock Rovers where he had guided them to two League Of Ireland Championships and into the Europa League group stages where they took on Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Coventry City manager Iain Dowie and Jim Magilton were also in the running for the role and Magilton may become the assistant to O'Neill who could be appointed next week.
