Former Coventry City forward Eoin Jess is recovering after suffering a stroke.

The 36 year old who is a youth team coach at Nottingham Forest was taken ill as he got ready to go to the gym.

He sought medical help and doctors in Nottingham, found that because of a hereditary condition, Jess had high blood cholesterol levels.

Jess said to the Nottingham Post: "It was very scary at the time, but I'm grateful my stroke was at the lower end of the scale as far as severity goes.

"I'm feeling fine now and expect to be back at work full time by the end of the month. "I know a lot of people who have suffered strokes aren't so lucky."
