Keogh started the game against Portugal, who play their first World Cup game against Germany on Monday, at the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey and lost his marker in the second minute to allow Almeida to head home from a Virella cross, watched by a crowd of 46,063.
In the 20th minute, things got worse for Keogh when he deflected a cross from Fabio Coentrao into his own net.

Sixteen minutes later, Portugal had a third when Millwall keeper David Forde flapped at a Ronaldo header and Almeida banged home the loose ball.
Ireland pulled a goal back in the 52nd minute through James McLean, following a quickly taken Wes Hoolahan free kick and twelve minutes later, they sent on former Coventry City forward Robbie Keane, who came on and took over as captain.
Portugal had taken off Christiano Ronaldo but they were not finished and scored a fourth in the 77th minute through Vierinha who tapped in after Forde had parried his initial effort.and wrapped up a comprehensive victory when Coentrao, assisted by Nani, fired through Forde's legs in the 83rd minute.
