As expected,Eric Black has resigned from Birmingham City.

The Scot had been at St Andrews since July 2004 after being sacked by then Coventry City Chairman Mike McGinnity.

Black was in charge of Birmingham's home defeat against Portsmouth on Saturday and is expected to team up with Steve Bruce once more at Wigan Athletic, later this week.

Gary McAllister is quoted as a 2/1 shot for the Scotland manager's job following the resignation of Alex McLeish so he can take over the reins at St Andrews. The former City boss was interviewed for the job back in January when Walter Smith quit.




Paul Bastock (pictured above), who played in goal for City Youth's 1987 FA Youth Cup winning team is to start a second spell at Boston United. The keeper has played for St Albans City and Kettering Town.
