Former Coventry City manager Eric Black has been placed in temporary charge of Birmingham City. Black, who was ousted from the Sky Blues job by Mike McGinnity had been at Birmingham since his dismissal from Highfield Road. The Scot is the Blues fans favourite to get the job after former Sky Blue Martin Jol, turned down the job.

Chester City have approached West Brom about taking John Hartson on loan. The former City striker who left City for Celtic, is out of favour at The Hawthorns.

Avun Jephcott has joined BGB League Midland DIvision side Woodford United. The Coventry based striker had been at Leamington FC and made 25 appearances for the Brakes scoring eight goals and one against City Reserves in the Lord Mayor's Cup back in May.
