Former Coventry City defender David McNamee has joined Leamington FC.

The Scot who had his time at Coventry City after moving from Livingston blighted by injury, the 33 year old was recently released by Nuneaton Town.

Speaking to his club's website, Brakes boss said about McNamee: "With the injuries to James Fry and then Luke Connolly, defensively it has left us very short. We’ve been enquiring about a few players over the last couple of weeks but we then discovered that David lives just down the road in Harbury.

"He ticks all the boxes really, he is tremendously experienced and as we have a lot of young lads in our squad this will benefit them. He is very versatile and has got great pedigree, I saw him play for Nuneaton last year and he looked very good. We’ve got him signed up with us now so hopefully he will enjoy his time with us and make a positive impact both on and off the pitch."
